Elizabeth Carlson is a jack of all trades. She has been travel blogging as the “Young Adventuress” for seven years, and coupled with her remarkable photography, has built up a legion of enduring fans on Instagram and Facebook.
To start 2017 off with something new, Carlson made the decision to re-discover her love for motion pictures. She has teamed up with her friend Olya, whom she describes as a “crazy Russian blonde girl,” so right away, we know this team will be fun to follow. Their first joint project of 2017 took the artists on a short three-hour road trip from their home in Wanaka, New Zealand to the big little city of Dunedin.
In her blog post announcing the film, Carlson describes what many of us often forget.
Dunedin is a place I have visited on and off over the years because it’s our closest city on the South Island, but I had never really given it a thorough look as a travel location. Like with so many of us, we often don’t pay attention to our own backyard, right? Time for that to change.
I’m glad I finally opened my eyes because Dunedin is AWESOME.
With her new outlook on the city, Carlson discovered that the town is a perfect mix of urban and nature. In the city, you can explore trendy new local cafes or amazing street art, and then within minutes be exploring the Central Otago coastline.
We all know about Wanaka, but Carlson shows us that there is so much more to the region.
