At this point, it seems like Martin Heck from Timestorm Films is our personal guide to the most beautiful locations on the planet. He has shown us the power of the Volcano Calbuco, the raw beauty of New Zealand and the harsh landscapes of the Chile’s Atacama Desert. But through it all, it seems that the Dolomite mountains in Northern Italy are Heck’s preferred location to shoot. His latest timelapse film from the region is the most recent addition to a series he has been working on for years.
I asked Heck what it was about the Dolomites that kept him coming back for more.
The Dolomites feel like my second home. My family has a house there so naturally I spent a lot of time in this mountain paradise on holidays when I was younger. Now that I’m living only 2-3h away by car its just natural that I take every chance to return there as often as I can. And even after traveling to some very remote and beautiful places around the world I can say that the Dolomites can easily keep up with them.
Lucky for us, Heck’s close proximity and inspiration from the Dolomites doesn’t seem to be waning. So look forward to many more of these incredible views in the near future.
