When Will Mayer and two of his friends decided to experience La Tomatina Festival in Spain, they hatched a simple plan. “We would start in London and somehow find our way to Bunol, Spain. Why? Well for La Tomatina of course. Other than a hard date for the festival, there were not other plans. We would simply head south and figure it out along the way” writes Will on his travel website aptly describing his travel methods; Vaguely Planned. Starting off in the scenic countryside of southern England, they crossed aboard a ferry to France to continue with their ‘vaguely-planned’ trip. Teeming with a zest for adventure, the three camped out on the streets of Paris, before continuing their road trip by hitchhiking their way to southern France.
This video may have a short 1 minute running time, but the fast paced video sliced together by Will Mayer succeeded in condensing all the highs and euphoria of traveling on the road. Culminating with a festive tomato throwing party in the streets of Bunol, Spain – the friends finally found what they have journeyed for. Along with thousands of people, they took turns hurling more than 100,000 pounds of tomatoes until exhaustion sets in and completing a unique experience.
