The world-famous Norwegian Flåm Railway is considered to be one of the most beautiful and steepest train routes in the world. It’s a route any traveler should take at least once in his or her lifetime. Now, you no longer have to leave your front door to do so.
Travel company Expedia recently teamed up with Visit Flåm to create an impressive 44-minute 360° travel experience. They attached a camera to the front of the train to capture the entire journey from from Myrdal to Flåm from the driver’s point of view. It allows an unobstructed view of the beautiful sights in all directions from the comfort of your own home.
“Virtual Flåm has made it possible to show everyone why this specific train journey is so popular. Norway is a country with varied and beautiful landscape. By travelling along the railway some of the most remarkable nature that can be experienced is available to a national and international audience.”
Staycationers have two options: an immersive experience with a VR set or mouse-dragging on your computer screen. And if the amazing scenery isn’t enough to entertain you, you also get tons of fun facts and attraction suggestions all along the way—go check it out!
