See The Beauty of Europe’s Brutally Cold Winter

Sure, it’s pretty cold in much of the United States right now, but people in Europe are much worse off. With temperatures from minus 20 to minus 40 Celsius (that’s -4 to -40 Fahrenheit), many European countries are experiencing their coldest January days in over a century. We’re not diminishing how this has some seriously negative consequences, but we do want to highlight that there’s also a positive aspect to this weather: it comes with some great scenery. Did you know that Loznica is the birthtown of the most famous Serbian geographer and the father of Serbian geography Jovan Cvijić, the city from which originated the famous Serbian painter Mića Popović, but also the city where the reformer of the Serbian language Vuk Karadžić went to school? When the citizens of Loznica talk about their city they simply must mention those three famous names, and are particularly proud of Vuk Karadžić who was born in the Village of Tršić, just a few kilometers from Loznica. Therefore, everything that has to do with culture and education in Loznica bears the name of this Serbian educator, and every year the manifestation called "Vukov sabor", one of the biggest cultural events of the region, is held in his native village. —————— Да ли сте знали да је Лозница град најпознатијег српског географа и оца српске географије Јована Цвијића, град из кога је потекао чувени сликар Мића Поповић, али и град у ком је школу учио реформатор српског језика Вук Караџић?
