One year ago, photographer and time-lapse filmmaker Jack Fusco started 2015 in a new home, in a new state, on a completely different coast then he grew up on. The New Jersey native picked up his belongings and moved to the sunny shores of San Diego, California when his girlfriend took a new position. As a photographer, Fusco immediately thought of his passion and art.
I was beside myself with excitement when the opportunity arose. I am a nature lover, and my passion for photography lies with landscapes, especially the dark night sky. It is hard to come across much wilderness in New Jersey, let alone find a place to sit and stare at the bright Milky Way on a warm summer evening. When the move to Southern California became official, I immediately started researching locations with the idea of creating a time-lapse film documenting my new found home. Nothing could have prepared me for what I would experience when I first laid eyes on these locations however. They were unlike anything I had ever seen before, and I fell in love with the West Coast and the nature that it holds.
The film is well crafted and shows exactly why Fusco fell in love with Southern California. And luckily for us, he has no plans of leaving anytime soon.
