After getting my first snowboard session of the year in yesterday on the beautiful slopes of Sun Valley, Idaho, I can’t stop thinking about bombing down long fast runs with fluffy snow. But as much as I love a little action and adrenaline, French skier Leo Taillefer took it to an entirely new level with this nail-biting run in Val d’ Isere, Italy. Taillefer starts out the run with some pretty impressive airs, but the real heart pounding moments come when Leo flies at blazing speeds through caves and a slot canyon, casually passing people relaxing and talking. A snowboarding yeti even makes an appearance at the 2:00 mark.
The run was so incredible, Taillefer won a $20k grand prize from GoPro for last season’s Line of the Winter. GoPro hasn’t yet opened the contest for the 2016 winter, but when they do, we will be excitedly awaiting Taillefer’s entry to see how he can possibly top this.
