It is Wednesday, which means we are two days late for sharing out favorite photos uploaded to Instagram using our #ResourceTravel hashtag. But you will have to forgive us, we are in Iceland with 500px and Iurie Belegurschi of Guide to Iceland. We have been posting tons of photos on our Instagram accounts (Resource Travel & 500px) and one or two of those photos may slip into this week’s list…because Iceland is that epic! If you would like to have one of your photos featured, make sure to tag #ResourceTravel and provide an almost exact location. Photos without a location and and are not square cropped will not be considered.
Until next week travelers!

"Social media can only show part of life, it can’t be all of a relationship." – – A good friend of mine (@Jared_Begg) wrote an interesting post on his blog today titled "Is This Real Life?". These are just a few snippets from the post, but I suggest you go read the whole thing. I'll put the link to the article in my bio tonight, or go click on the link in his bio (@Jared_Begg). – – – "The point I want to make here is not that the persona on social media is fake, just that it’s not complete." – – "Social Media is real life. But it’s not a full representation of a person, what they do on a daily basis. Humans are sad and happy, sometimes at the same time, sometimes for the same reasons. A person can appear carefree and joyful but be sad and hurting on the inside. Life is full, but a moment is just a moment. And a picture just shows a moment." – – "People are complex, intricate, nuanced. We can’t understand each other through our Facebook feeds or our Twitter, Tumblr, or Instagram." – – "Maybe it’s time to realize that social media are just tools. They show real life, but only briefly. Go talk to your friends, or give them a call. At least send them a private message. Ask follow-up questions. Don’t assume. Go deeper." – – Photo from: #NorthWindow #ArchesNP #Utah

Mt.Ruang, East Java, Indonesia. by @pjvanschalkwyk
It's not everyday that you get to see a #volcano erupting with a #milkyway overhead. I managed to get the shot under a gibbous moon as we were making our accent up Ijen crater in the early morning hours. The volcano in the photo is Mt. #Ruang, located in East Java, #Indonesia. It's intense ash emissions produced a plume that stretched for hundreds of kilometers. As a result, many flights to and from #Bali were cancelled or delayed. #ResourceTravel #travelawesome #awesome_earthpix #nikonphoto_
Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon, Iceland by @500px
Another day in Iceland. You can't always get the right light, but to increase your chances you have to wake up by 3:30am and be on the spot by 4:00am to get the pre-dawn colours. That's a shot from last morning by @500px founder, Evgeny Tchebotarev. Follow our adventure at #500pxIcelandTour and follow all our crew: @slavamylnikov, @michaelbonocore, and @iuriebelegurschi.

Isle Of Skye, Scotland by @karllindsayphotography
Neist Point is the most westerly point on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. There’s a fantastic view from the cliffs out to the peninsular and lighthouse. I spent almost an hour there, just enjoying the view and trying different settings on my camera. This shot is a 1.3 second exposure with circular polariser to remove the glare.

Big Sur, California by @michaelmatti
I set out on this roadtrip wanting to rediscover old places and find new ones but the longer I'm out on the road, the less I look forward to the places and the more I look forward to the people; The more I want to rediscover old friendships and find new ones. – While the places we can visit are cool, its the people we can share life with that should be cherished. Let's make people a priority. This photo was from last night at Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur with a new friend and a wonderful human, @christianannschaffer. – #CommunityFirst #PfeifferBeach #BigSur #California
