Filmmaker Brandon Li came onto our radar with his film “Tokyo Roar”, a beautiful look at life in the bustling capital of Japan. Li has a way of pulling us deep into his films, making us feel as if we are looking into the eyes of his interesting characters. His latest short film, “Nomads of Mongolia” brings us to the remote mountains of Western Mongolia where we watch the daily lives of the nomads unfold. Li speaks about the experience of making the film on his Vimeo description:
Life in Western Mongolia is an adventure. Training eagles to hunt, herding yaks, and racing camels are just a few of the daily activities of the nomadic Kazakh people. I spent a few weeks living with them and experiencing one of the most unique cultures in the world.
The movie is beautifully filmed and once again proves why Li is one of the best storytellers in the crowded travel film genre.
