Australian chef turned full-time Instagrammer Lauren Bath is one of the social media community’s most followed travel photographers, and for good reason. Her consistent stream updates take her followers with her as she travels the globe, experiencing the best of what each location she visits has to offer.
A location Bath seems to never get enough of is Dubai, and this week, Bath is back in the United Arab Emirates’ most populated city. But for this trip, Bath brought along a team of 9 Instagrammers, filmmakers and Snapchatters to work with the Dubai Tourism Board. The main purpose of the trip is to raise awareness of the rich culture of the city while dispelling myths about Dubai.
Besides Instagram, the team is also very active on Facebook, SnapChat, and YouTube. But at its core, the campaign is focused at showing the beauty of Dubai on Instagram, and the content has been frequent, beautiful and inspiring. Follow along on Instagram this week using the hashtag #MyDubai as the team shoots foggy sunrises from the Burh Khalifa to exploring massive sand dunes in the deserts outside of the city center.
In addition to his awesome (yet too short) timelapse clips on Instagram, filmmaker Matthew Vandeputte has been creating daily behind the scenes vlogs on his YouTube channel.
The campaign is a great example of how tourism boards around the world are beginning to realize the power of social media to help tell the stories that travelers experience while in their locations, and the stories coming out of Dubai are incredible.

This is part of what we saw from the amazing observation deck on top of the @burjkhalifa in Dubai yesterday morning. I feel so blessed having witnessed the famous yet so illusive fog. I sure hope you don't mind me teasing you with these short clips :) I am working on a longer version, which will be worth the wait. In the meantime, if you want to see more you can watch the vlog that just went live! Link in bio. #MyDubai | @mydubai
This is my favorite view from the Madinat Jumeirah, of the Burj Al Arab from the canals. We did a short Abra tour around the property and everyone was so jealous that I stayed there last year, Abra tours were just how we got around. Haha. This morning we're off on another adventure. @mydubai #mydubai
The fountain at the @burjkhalifa gives you a spectacular show every 30 minutes from 6 till 11pm. Having a drink and dinner at the #Zeta restaurant is a must do if you want to witness this spectacle laid back with a nice drink in hand :) These 15 seconds comprise of 2032 images by the way, hope you like 'em! @mydubai | #MyDubai
Casually taking it all in at level 125 @atthetopburjkhalifa, the tallest building in the world. Who's keen to check this out? Im having the best time here with @mydubai and am super lucky to traveling with some of the most talented instatrammers in the world! I have tagged them all into this post so click away and go check them all out. #MyDubai #dubaianz2015 @visit.dubai
|| Top || Only from the top of the world can we see the path we have taken zig zag across the landscape and finish at our feet. ( What An amazing morning at the @burjkhalifa its hard to describe the feeling of being so high, but this was a surreal and unique moment shared with old and new friends. @MyDubai #MyDubai )
I get goosebumps thinking about this morning. I have been dreaming about shooting the famous Dubai fog from the top of this building since 2010. With a 2,7% chance of this happening, we couldn't have been luckier this morning. I'm a bit nervous thinking about how I will edit the 5600 photos I captured, which doesn't happen a lot to be honest. Thank you @burjkhalifa for making my day, possibly my year. @mydubai | #MyDubai
|| Sharing || Sharing moments is all we should ever need, want and strive for. @mydubai #MyDubai ( Sunrise in the Hatta Hajjar Mountains was an amazing experience clamering up loose rocky slopes in the dark traversing the little spines of the hills hunting for layers of light, alone it would have been wonderful but to see others doing the same and calling to each other across the valley hunting for a spot of their own was magical )
This is probably my favorite shot from the Burj Khalifa, I saw a few people including the marina in their shots from last year and was bummed I was on the other side. (One of the many things I love about returning again and again to favorite destinations) We have buildings, water, sunrise AND fog! @mydubai #mydubai
I just want to say that every single person here in Dubai with me is awesome! If you're looking for great accounts to follow you should check out these people, just click the pic to see their usernames. Last year in November I was fortunate enough to work on a 25 person campaign with Dubai tourism so we re-created the group shot with the new crew this year! From the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. @mydubai #mydubai
