Germany has had multiple capitals in its history: Aachen, Regensburg, Frankfurt-am-Main, Nuremberg, Berlin, Weimar, Bonn, and now finally back to Berlin. Berlin landed in the top ten by ECO Watch and their friends at DualCitizen LLC as one of the greenest nations in the world for its standards on vehicle emissions. Just to round out the fun facts about Berlin, there happen to be more museums than rainy days–so keep your rain boots at home!
Filmmaker Alex Soloviev currently lives in Berlin and created his vision of his home city from his perspective as an artist. You can tell from watching this film that it wasn’t made by just any traveler passing through, but by someone with a keen sense of the local culture and a deep appreciation for Berlin’s rich past. The film takes you through the city and into parks, meshing time-lapse and handheld shots to portray the daily hustle and bustle before slowing down and taking us into a more intimate view of local life. A city that was once split in two comes seamlessly together in this beautiful short film.
